Twitter Assignment

This assignment will take place virtually on the social media network Twitter. We will be using Twitter for what is called a “backchannel” or an online conversation about our course content and your own reporting on your beat.  Our class will have its own hashtag (#jrnl301) that will stream on our class website so that everyone can review and respond to tweets from class participants. You should feel free to tweet during class discussions or outside of the classroom and think of this hashtag as an opportunity to initiate conversations and promote your own reporting. You may pose and reply to tweeted questions and broaden the discussion by sharing new ideas and resources.

Requirements:

1.     Set up your own Twitter account if you don’t have one already.

2.     Review the YouTube video on using Twitter to create a backchannel at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMy8RKkXEPQ

3.     Tweet at least twice a week with our hashtag to receive full credit on this assignment.  (The cutoff for weekly Tweets is Friday at 5 p.m.)
